365 Project 2010

Happy New Year!!

For 2010 I decided to join the 365 challenge which consists of taking a picture every day. Everybody is welcome to join me!!.. if we have social pressure that would help us to do the project!

When I started to think about doing this project I was kind of skeptical but I really love to take pictures and unfortunately I’m not creating images everyday. I love to have challenges and want to have one that makes me more creative.

I noticed when I’m on assignment (like the ABC-LIC contest) or set up goals I create images that I would probably never have thought of doing before, that makes me realize that what I need is just practice and what’s better practice than taking pictures every day? =)

For the 365 challenge, I want to have a different theme for each month or week??… I’m still deciding but I know that I’m going to separate the project by different periods of time and at the end of the project I will create a book. I don’t want just take pictures of whatever inspires me on a specific day, I want to create personal assignments, challenging myself every day in order to create quality images.

I took a series of pictures today, after I processed and selected my favorite, I decided the theme based on that single image.

The theme for my first series of pictures will be “Lines”
Basically something that directs the viewer to a certain point in the image. It can be created with any object that forms one or more lines, can be curved, straight and can go in any direction.

I took this image in LIC, when I saw the frozen path guiding me to the city I had to crouched and take the picture…
I used my D40x at 30mm, exposure: 1/125sec, F/5.6 and ISO 100
