This is Valentina with her dog Vivi.
Valentina is super lovely and cute, we had a portrait session last night at her house and she was dancing and doing great poses. We had a lot of fun together with her family.

I chose this picture for the 365 Challenge group, theme Emotions.

This is Miva, one of the cutest cats that I’ve seen. She’s about 5 months old and loves to play and jump around all over the place. I have to admit that I’m not a cat-friendly person but this little cutie got my heart. She’s adorable and I love her expressions.

We had dinner at Suki with our friend Melissa, the roll has her name since every time she used to ask for a special roll which basically has every kind of salmon that you can get (salmon skin, with salmon on top with salmon roe on top of that). One day we when to Suki for her birthday and they had the roll as a special in their board. Since then, every time that we eat there, we order the Melissa Roll.

Theme of the week: Emotions

This picture makes me very calm and relaxed.. Especially while eating your favorite sushi in the light of the candle. So I’ll call it Serenity =)

Gallery Wrap Canvas 16×20 Review

posted in: Photography, Prints/Review (Tags: , , , , , ) - No Comments

I’ve been getting very good deals through twitter and recently I saw the opportunity to get a free canvas 16×20 gallery wrap with Zaza Gallery in exchange for advertising them on my blog. Since I’m a canvas-lover I decided to do it.

After completing a few requirements and e-mailing the digital file, I received my canvas 13 days after their confirmation (CA-NY)

Canvas 8x10

I have to admit that I completely forgot about it and since this wasn’t an formal order through their website, I didn’t receive a shipping confirmation, I was surprised to receive a big FedEx package with a canvas well protected in bubble wrap.

The colors and the texture are great, I submitted a very bright and colorful image and it really fulfilled my expectations.

Here you can kind of see the texture of the canvas:
Texture Canvas 8x10

I asked for a gallery wrap, which means that the picture is wrapped around the edges:
Corner Canvas 8x10

The only thing that I’m not 100% happy with is the finish on the back of the canvas, in the end doesn’t matter too much since we’re not looking at it when it’s on the wall, but I’m being honest and don’t want to hide any detail. It’s not a big deal but I’m comparing with the canvases that I have from 2 different companies (including two that I got for free), both of them have the back of the canvas very well finished.
You can see the picture next:
Back Canvas 8x10

Another detail is that didn’t come with the screws or sticky thing to hang it on the wall, but that’s not a problem.

Overall I’ll give them 4 stars just for those details that easily can be fixed. The canvas itself is great and the most important is the image and it came out excellent, I checked their website and the prices are very low, it’s definitely a good deal for the quality that you’re getting. I’m going to do my next order with them.

This is a plastic bottle filled with water.
I shook the bottle while the exposure was on and used a translucent reflector in front of the SB-800 and the subject.
