Today it has been raining and snowing all day and I decided to use one of the roses that my hubby gave me on Sunday for today’s Love picture. Probably this picture looks sad but I just love the roses when they’re wet. I took the picture at noon and at 5pm the rose was completely buried in the snow.

For this week the theme is Love, and yesterday we got a special dessert at Cranky’s (yes, again) and I decided to use it as my subject of the day. After taking some pictures I had an accident but it was still edible =D
I used a window light for this shot. In Lightroom I desaturate the plate.

I’m not a big fan of Valentine’s Day but we did a lot of things today…
Starting with a nice brunch at Cranky’s Café with my husband and then spending the afternoon enjoying some art at the Metropolitan Museum of Art (Met), we saw the “Surface Tension” exhibition, a collection of contemporary photographs.
One of my favorites was a picture by the artist Adam Fuss, it’s an image made using snakes, really cool and interesting, you can see it here, probably it won’t have so much impact online but if you have the chance to see it in person you should give it a try, it’s really nice to see the big print. My husband’s favorite was this one, there’s also a very cool story behind the image. After the Met we walked through Central Park taking some pictures and enjoying the snow, we realized that it was the first time that we were walking together there, normally we go on walks a lot but not in Central Park.
To wrap up the night, we walked down to 54th Street to meet our friends and have delicious turkish food.
I had to say, it was a good day
Now, the picture of the day: “Central Park Walk”

For Saturday I took pictures unrelated to the theme and I didn’t want to have a different image for this day so, almost at midnight I took the picture of the tail of my scared cute friend.

My husband is taking Chinese lessons and I went with him to Cranky’s to meet with his friend (I went there for the pastries not for the lessons ) they often write words while they’re talking and I asked my husband to write something so I could take a picture of his hands with the Chinese characters.
After checking the pictures I decided to use the one that is focused on the letters more than his hands. I think the DoF looks very nice. He wrote 我爱你 “I love you” and the character that is in focus means Love.
It’s still goes with the theme of the week =)

Despite the storm, parents pushed their strollers through the snow and made it to the shoot. We were at Little Closets for almost 3 hours with the kids and as always we had a lot of fun.
Here is a short video showing what happened today at Little Closets.
Thanks again to Little Closets for letting this happen.
