The Ebony Hillbillies came on July 25th with a lot of energy and made everybody dance. This was one of my favorite concerts, a lot of laughs, dance and excellent rhythm.

This is one of my favorite story images. Could you tell me what is your favorite part of this story?

I really enjoyed photographing this event.
Go to Ebony Hillbillies‘ website to listen to their music.

I’m three weeks behind and the concerts are better and better each week at Live at the Gantries.
First we had the Beets, then the The Ebony Hillbillies that left everybody asking for more and this week we had Gamelan Orchestra- Yowana Sari that also created a great show.
Enjoy the pictures and post your comments at the end. I’ll be posting the next two shows very soon!
Enjoy The Beets:

Yesterday was the first show of the series Live at the Gantries and it started with nice hot Latin music from Latin Jazz Coalition.

You guys know my main work is photographing kids but I’m always shooting events for Queens Council on the Arts (QCA) and Live at the Gantries is a very special event for me since it was my first official gig three years ago (in 2008) when I started shooting as a professional photographer. It’s fun to remember my first concerts [link] =) And even more pleasant to see my former clients again =)
… And before I start to get emotional I’m just going to show you my peaks from yesterday’s performance =)

Of course kids always steal the show. I love to see them dancing.

…and running…

…and breakdancing too!..

Well sort of.
I can’t resist cute dogs!

Hope to see you guys next Tuesday for another concert at Live at the Gantries!

The day after the portrait session, we had Guiseppe’s communion. No pictures allowed at the church so I just documented the amazing party they had at Testaccio Restaurant in Long Island City.
The family enjoyed a delicious meal and had lots of fun, especially with the caricaturist Fred Fassberger. Not just the kids but adults as well got their caricature done.
I have tons of pictures but I’m just going to share a couple here, if you want to see more please go to my Facebook page:

The Maker Faire just passed last weekend, this was my first one and I loved it!.. Everything related with art, photography and technology fix perfectly to me =) I love gadgets and geeky stuff =)
Here are some of my favorite pics of the day:

One of the highlights was a Technology Fashion Show by Diana Eng .. Can I ask for more?

This dress is called “Cameo Capelet”

This is the “Floating Dreams Dress”
I didn’t take my flash but I was able to ‘borrow’ the light of one of the flashes of the press photographers =)
This was at the New York Hall of Science, they have an amazing hall, the walls are all cover with stained glass and it used to be an exhibition of the museum there, now they use it just for special events.
More pictures after the break!!

Hiromi Suda was at the Live at the Gantries two weeks ago. We enjoyed her music and a great sunset.
Next I’ll show a selection of the pictures together with one of her songs:
The song is Chega de Saudade interpreted by Hiromi.
If you want to see the pictures in larger sizes go to the Live at the Gantries photo gallery of Hiromi Suda on flickr.
Last week in Long Island City we had an amazing performance at Live at the Gantries with the St. Paul AME Mass Church Choir
