Friday, August 5th, 2011The Ebony Hillbillies came on July 25th with a lot of energy and made everybody dance. This was one of my favorite concerts, a lot of laughs, dance and excellent rhythm.

First we had the Beets, then the The Ebony Hillbillies that left everybody asking for more and this week we had Gamelan Orchestra- Yowana Sari that also created a great show.

It’s good to be back! Live at the Gantries 2011 in Long Island City
Wednesday, July 13th, 2011Yesterday was the first show of the series Live at the Gantries and it started with nice hot Latin music from Latin Jazz Coalition.
You guys know my main work is photographing kids but I’m always shooting events for Queens Council on the Arts (QCA) and Live at the Gantries is a very special event for me since it was my first official gig three years ago (in 2008) when I started shooting as a professional photographer. It’s fun to remember my first concerts [link] =) And even more pleasant to see my former clients again =)
… And before I start to get emotional I’m just going to show you my peaks from yesterday’s performance =)
Of course kids always steal the show. I love to see them dancing.

First Communion Celebration – Sneak Peek
Tuesday, May 17th, 2011The day after the portrait session, we had Guiseppe’s communion. No pictures allowed at the church so I just documented the amazing party they had at Testaccio Restaurant in Long Island City.
The family enjoyed a delicious meal and had lots of fun, especially with the caricaturist Fred Fassberger. Not just the kids but adults as well got their caricature done.

Kids Portraits at the Park Sneak Peek – Long Island City, NY
Saturday, May 14th, 2011I’m so excited about today’s shoot!. I just got home and had to pick my favorite images and share it. For this session we were super worry about the weather, it didn’t look good for a while and almost re-scheduled, but we didn’t give up and made it trough the shoot without a drop!
Even though I like to shoot when it’s cloudy, the only thing is that we didn’t have a nice sunset. Anyway… life goes on and here we are, I’m glad we decided to go on and had the opportunity to play with this family and document a fun time at the park.

Ready For Mother’s Day 2011?

I’m going to be back at Floresta in Long Island City for a full pre-Mother’s-day shoot.
I want to do the shoot at the end of March (beginning of April) so we have enough time to meet after the shoot and have everything ready when the day comes.

2011 News!

After a very very long break I’m back and ready to show you lots of pictures. I was in Colombia for 21 days visiting my family and had a wonderful time.
I have a big project of documenting my family together with my husband. We interviewed lots of family members and took their portraits. I’m very happy with the results and I’ll share them right here little by little. Eventually I’m going to create a book for the family with all the portraits and parts of the family tree (which is huge!)
I’ve been very busy since I came back, still owe a couple of projects, like the 365 challenge project, which is done, but I still need to
process the last 20 pictures and post them on Flickr. Also I need to showcase the best pictures of the “Special Portrait Week for Kids” I did at Floresta last December. And another personal project is finalizing the California pictures!
I won’t continue (at least for now) the 365 Challenge this year, I think I have lots of projects to work on this first part of the year and I don’t want to get overloaded. 2011 started off really well so I’ll follow the momentum and keep working.
