I flagged this image as a ‘rejected’ and two seconds after I went back and asked to myself "If this was the only picture that you have, what would you do it to save it?".. Then I un-flagged it and after a couple of clicks in Ligthroom I ended up with this. After all the pictures that I took yesterday I decided to go with this one.

A new restaurant is coming to LIC.
The name of the place is Madera – Cuban Grill, it has been under construction for a while and finally we saw the “Opening Soon!” sign on the door.
On their website they say the following:
“Cuba…Land of Romance!
Bringing the romance, flavors, and excitement of Cuba to you, Madera Cuban Grill and Steakhouse will open soon on Vernon Blvd in Long Island City.
We will be serving delicious Cuban Cuisine and the type of tender, Mid-western Steaks you can only find in the finest Steakhouses…and grilled to luscious perfection!
For More Information please follow our Pre-Opening progress on OurLIC.”
The restaurant is located on Vernon Blvd, between 47th Rd and 48th Ave in Long Island City, NY
Last week we rocked the streets of Long Island City with the dancer Heather McGinley.
It wouldn’t have been possible without the work of Shveta Sawhney with hair and makeup.
Here you can find the rest of the pics, feel free to create your favorites folder.
Manhattanhenge or Manhattan Solstice
It’s a beautiful phenomenon that happens twice a year when the sun perfectly lines up with Manhattan’s grid.
I want to share some pictures that I took today (July 12th, 2009) from the Pulaski Bridge of Manhattanhenge on and around 38th street:
The waiting starts on the Pulaski Bridge

While buildings and objects are illuminated by the beautiful sunlight

At 8:00pm the sun starts kissing the buildings…

While the sun is hiding, let’s admire the beautiful skyline

The sun’s reflection appears from the other side of the building and looks like a “double sun”

Hiding again between buildings

Another peek and he’s on his way to pass through 38th street

Let’s just wait to see him coming…

8:22pm Enjoy your Manhattanhenge
